New Jersey Family Photographer | Connor & Kim

I was so excited to photograph my cousin and his fiancé yesterday for their engagement portraits. We had lots of laughs, made great memories and all the while captured the essence of who they are….a fun, in love, perfectly-made-for-each-other couple. Can't wait to celebrate in a few months!

New Jersey family photographer | winter engagement shoot

I was super excited to get out earlier this month to do a wintery engagement shoot with my brother and his fiance. We planned the shoot just after a snow storm so the ground was fresh with the white fluffy stuff. The approach to the shoot was to keep it fun while mixing traditional portraits with more natural candid shots. Hope you enjoy the snippet of wintery love.

NYC Portrait Photographer | Proposal in Central Park

Last weekend we headed to Central Park, to capture a wedding proposal. This was a first for us, which meant a high level of excitement+ adrenaline since we didn't know what to expect. We got to the park early and scouted out the "area" the proposal would take place. It was a secluded spot with special meaning for Gregory and Hayley (the lovebirds we were about to take pix of) --right near The Boathouse, on the shoreline of the lake. We originally wanted to be across the lake, sniper stye--but when we arrived we saw just how overgrown the trees were and we realized there was no way we'd be able to see anything. So we took a chance and camped out within feet from where they'd be. Gregory sent me a text when they were getting close, and we took our places.  My husband was practically right next to them, acting like he was taking pictures of birds or something...and I was running around like a chicken with its head cut off in the woods trying to find a spot that wasn't totally blocked by bushes. Once I found a spot with a good vantage point the paparazzi-ing began. It was such an amazing experience to witness...these guys are very much in love. I couldn't help but get chills watching everything unfold. Hopefully the pictures tell the story of the moment. I don't even think Hayley knows we were there taking the pictures to this very moment. This blog entry may be her first realization. How special is that?

Props to you Gregory, for being thoughtful enough to have it forever captured in pictures as well as in your hearts!

Manhattan Wedding Photographer | Sarah & Jon's Engagement Shoot

The second half of yesterday was spent with Sarah and Jon, shooting their engagement portraits. These guys are such a cute couple, a perfect balance to each other. The shoot took place in Larchmont, NY at a park that Sarah spent her childhood playing in. It was a place she always dreamed she would one day take her wedding (or engagement) pictures at, and since it had such important meaning... it truly was a magical affair. The day was picture perfect and we were able to get lots of awesome shots. I am so excited for their August wedding at the New York Botanical Gardens....stay tuned for their wedding pictures!

New England Wedding Photographer | Tiffany & Matt's Engagement shoot

newenglandweddingphotographer3 This past Saturday I met with Tiffany and Matt who are getting married on October 10, 2010 at St. Clements Castle in Portland, Connecticut. They drove all the way down to Hoboken, NJ from Rhode Island for the shoot. Tiffany figured since the vibe/photos at the wedding will be more  natural and secret garden-y, why not go in the complete opposite direction with the engagement pictures? He headed to Court Street and the surrounding areas for an urban look, we had awesome light and I'm loving the pictures. Can't wait to see what the big day will hold!

NYC Roof Top & Times Square Engagement Shoot

Last night (yes, on one of the  hottest nights of the summer!) I  headed in to NYC with Jamie and George, a newly engaged couple. Since George is a city guy at heart, we thought it would be fun to take their engagement pictures there...whats better than being in the place you love with the person you love most?? Anyway, even though it was very warm and sticky, these guys made the entire experience look cool and comfortable. Here are some special shots from the affair;

Liz and Jesse's Engagement Session

ohare Yesterday I met with these guys at The Waveny in New Canaan, CT for their engagement pictures. We had an awesome time together which of course results in fun pictures. As soon as I downloaded the images, and saw the series we took in the meadow (above and 2 below), it instantly made me think of the '70s (flowing hair, meadows, frolics and laughter). Stay tuned, their wedding is coming up in September 2009!

Kerry and Justin Elope!

This passed Saturday we had the opportunity to shoot an elopement ceremony (I think I made that word up) for my cousin and her boyfriend/now husband! It took place at a cool hotel in the Village called The Bowery. The decor was amazing, the attire was amazing...basically there was eye-candy everywhere we turned. I could go on and on-but instead I'll just post some pictures.... kerryjustin

Ned and Melissa

This weekend I got to shoot 2 of my favorite people...my brother-in-law and his fiance! The weather held out and we were able to get amazing shots at the Van Vleck house in Montclair, NJ. All the flowers were blooming, including the gigantic 100 year old wisteria tree. It was such a great shoot, and these guys purchased their own wisteria to grow in their own yard...to always remind them of the special day! nm2

Kate and Brian

Tonight I headed to the upper east side to meet with Kate and Brian for their engagement session. These guys are getting married in July and I LOVED the park they chose-which is in their 'hood and has a bit of history for the 2 of them. I hadn't realized just how many flowers have begun to bloom this month until I got to the park. Seeing all the greenery and flowers got me inspired and these 2 were a blast to photograph. Here are some favorites... kb

Stephen's State Park Engagement Shoot

kassandra2 Yesterday I had the pleasure of meeting Kassandra and Scott who are planning on getting married next year. They love being outside, doing outdoor activities so we decided to do a shoot in nature. The idea was to capture them naturally in the environment and really show just how happy these guys are to have found each other. They did a great job, and I'm really impressed with Kassandra's high heel skills walking on all that rocky ground!
