Last month we attended a friends wedding in Colorado. As a wedding gift to them, I designed a 12x12 album with the pictures we took. This album is available for any photo shoot (Watch Me Grow packages, seasonal shoots, engagement shoots, whatever!). I had to share on the blog with you guys because it's really fun!! Now its time to ship the album on its merry way :)

One of the things I want to start doing this year is showing you images of the photo products my clients choose to display in their actual homes. Yesterday I reached out to one of my clients (who has beautifully displayed photos we've taken over the years), asking if she would snap a few photos for me. She did an awesome job, and I am lucky enough to show you them here today on my blog. In this feature you will see fine art canvas prints along with framed prints. The canvas prints shown in these pictures range from 8x10 to 11x14. As you can see, such canvas sizes are not overwhelming-and work well both on the wall, or displayed on a table top. Enjoy the inspiration!
I had to share my latest album before I ship it off to my client...it's handmade by a book binding company based out of los angeles called Cypress Albums. In my opinion, their products are the most beautiful, unique + artistic out there. However, since they are made by hand-they are also the most expensive...but its sooo worth it in the end. Every client that has opted to have a Cypress album made has been beyond thrilled with their decision once they get their hands on the albums (and I am always sad to let them go since they're so pretty!).
The Cypress album shown is also available for regular portrait sessions. You can create an album from any portrait session we've done together. If you prefer, we can make it a collaborative piece with portraits we've done throughout the year, or years. If you are interested in prices, please send an email.
I'm so excited to share with you a new product I am offering for 2011. Its' my most affordable flush mount album ever, and I am totally in love with it. The album is 12x12 in size (large and fabulous), images are printed on press quality low luster archival paper with lay flat pages. The standard album has 20 pages, and holds 30 images from your photo shoot. The outside of the book is wrapped in a matte finished metallic print, which has a super smooth feel. This is such a fun way to show off the images from your photo shoot (especially if there are lots of images you love). I also recommend adding this product to your Watch Me Grow package. A book showcasing the year long journey through your baby's first year is a treasure to have.
Last weekend my husband and I headed to Coney Island for a little adventure and picture taking fun. I love heading to this beach in the winter when the boardwalk is relatively desolate. There is a quiet stillness to the amusement rides and boarded up store-fronts that I find intriguing and beautiful. I figured I would share this pretty little 14x14 collage print I created from some of the photographs taken during our outing....enjoy!
Last night I stumbled across a very fun clothing designer, TeenyBunny on Etsy. Her dresses for little girls are vintage inspired and like nothing I've ever seen before. The moment I saw the yellow dress (featured above) I felt the need to share some of her pieces with you. If you are considering booking a shoot this spring or summer, I really think one of these dresses would be amazing in pictures.
The dress (above) would look so sweet against an old white barn in the country --or at the Van Vleck house in the spring running through bright green grass. Even on the beach, with bare feet splashing in the water! If you want to make the dress look more casual, I think a pair of mid-calf black rubber boots would be adorable. The retro-style dresses (above) would work well in a city setting with yellow cabs in the background or on a simple cobblestone street in Hoboken. I'm so happy I found this designer and hopefully one of her dresses will help inspire you for your little ones shoot!

I just finished up doing a super fun boudoir shoot with a very gorgeous client. The shoot is a surprise Valentines Day gift for her special someone, so I won't post anything in order to keep the surprise intact. But I couldn't help to share with you the fun heart garland I made for a portion of her shoot. It reminds me of something I'd see at Anthropologie, which is my favorite store!
After many requests from clients and friends, I'm very happy to report this year I will be selling fine art prints of the places I hold most dear to my heart. Select prints will be sold at Blue Fish Coastal Boutique which is located on Martha's Vineyard this summer. I will let you know when everything is up and ready for purchase online. This is super rare, but with all of this snow that has been falling, I really want to take advantage of the beauty surrounding us! I am looking for 2 children that are interested in a photoshoot outside in the snow. Details:
Date: This Thursday: 2/3 (I am flexible with the time of day)
Must be either a brother and sister, or 2 sisters. Ages between 2 and 10
Clothing must consist of bright colorful items (hats, scarves, boots, mittens, sweaters, etc)

After a very nice break, I am back to work with some updated newborn items for 2011. I found some really fun things on Etsy last month; a pink vintage baby scale, some cute new knitted hats, vintage fabrics and chunky blankets with great texture -plus some beautiful baskets to keep your little ones comfy and cozy. Above are the new goodies, hopefully they will inspire and excite you. My next newborn shoot is this Wednesday...we'll see how it goes!
Above: This super cute newborn outfit is perfect for a boy or a girl. A pop of color (of your choice) would be a great addition to this neutral tone ensemble.
Above: The moment I saw this on Etsy I fell in love with it. The colors are so vibrant and fun + its just such a unique little hat. Perfect for a 6-9 month old girl-with just a diaper on or a plain onsie. I can't wait to use it!
Above: I couldn't resist buying the owl hat in newborn size as well. I figured the neutral tones would be best for this age so the colors don't overwhelm the tiny body and face of a 2 week old. How cute would this be on a a sleeping baby in my nest?!

Last year, after the holidays-I found this fun website with holiday costumes for babies and little children (http://www.costumecraze.com). I shared it with my cousin and said "I wish I had known about this before we did Jack's shoot"...well needless to say, my cousin promptly purchased 2 costumes for the next holiday photo shoot. Now that her cards have been delivered I wanted to share with you how the "costume shoot"of 2010 turned out. It was a little difficult persuading her son to wear the get-up, but with a little help we were able to get Jack to forget (for a few quick minutes) that he was in this funny suit.
I'm so excited that my cousin donated this outfit, along with a cute felt Santa costume. So if any of you are ever thinking of doing something a little out of the box for your next holiday shoot-let me know. I have some fun items! The featured pictures are the front and "bloopers" backside of Jack's holiday card. Love it!
Well, I got to switch it up a little this week. Instead of shooting a family, or a baby- I got to shoot a pretty new salon called Tousled. My hairdresser, Rita Sanders recently opened up her own salon in the Historic District of downtown Jersey City. Rita is an American Board Certified Master Hair Colorist, Aveda Hair color Educator, and editorial & runway hairstylist. Rita and her salon are nothing short of spectacular!

This is a message for all of my WATCH ME GROW parents that have a 6 month or 1 year shoot coming up this summer. I strongly recommend booking now.
