Martha's Vineyard

We just got back from our annual Martha's Vineyard vacation. Martha's Vineyard is one of my most favorite place to visit in the entire world. It was the perfect mini-vacation and I already am day dreaming about our next trip back. marthas2

Big Hair

So I'm in the midst of re-designing my website with new pictures and stuff...and as I sift through all of my disks of images I came across these beauties. I *convinced* my girlfriends into teasing their hair nice and big and we went off into the North End in Boston to take pictures. Needless to say, people were staring. The ladies were totally not happy with my vision of big hair, which is surprising since the 3 of us are all from Jerz and are known for the love of a big teased hair-do. kate1

Joe's Shoot

This Saturday I had the opportunity to meet an adorable *almost 2 year old* named Joe. He was totally excited to have his picture taken when I showed up, which made my job really easy and lots of fun. We started indoors with some editorial shots, then did an outfit change and headed outside to the yard to play and of course, to capture the great light. joe2

Newborn Shoot

On Wednesday I headed up to Connecticut to shoot little Taylor. She's just few weeks old here, and absolutely adorable. Since she was so well behaved we were able to spend tons of time trying out different shooting scenarios. These are a few that I find extra special.... taylor2

Emily at 7 months

On July 1st, I met DeAnne and Scott at the Rockefeller State Preserve just past Sleepy Hollow (Tarrytown), NY. I'd been there in the fall for a family photo shoot and loved the backdrop it provided for pictures. There is a pretty lake and a large open meadow, along with fun little wooded paths to work with. Although I did get a speeding ticket on my way to meet them (my first ever)...the trip was totally worth it. Here are some of my favorite shots from the day.... emily1

G Fox Wedding

Greetings.br /So we shot a wedding last night in Hartford, CT for our friends Sara and Tim. It was at the G. Fox building in Hartford (great place--art deco, old Hollywood glam style). I'd been there before and after seeing the upstairs bar area, had decided I wanted to take advantage of the red velvet couches and luxurious surroundings. But this time I was prepared with a little additional strobe. I've been wanting to do a Marilyn Monroe-esque type o' picture of a bride sitting on a fun couch (they had lots of them) with the shoes peeping out underneath a big puffy dress. Well, wouldn't ya know it, we made it happen! Hope you love it as much as I do, Sara. Check back to my website next week and I should have a slideshow of the affair up. sarah

Wake Robin Inn Wedding

We shot a wedding in Lakeville, Connecticut last weekend. It's a peaceful little town surrounded by farms, fields, rivers and lakes. Our couple, Dava and Damian who are from New York were so inspired by a Maine wedding they had attended in the past, that they decided to throw a "destination" wedding...sort of like a weekend getaway where they could celebrate with their closest friends and family. The event took place at the Wake Robin Inn, a majestic site for an outdoor wedding. Everything was spectacular, including the vegetable ravioli! 03

Making a Difference

1 For the past two days I was shooting volunteer workers from Pepsico at different community centers in Port Chester, NY and the Bronx. It was amazing to see so many wonderful people come together for a good cause, giving back to the community and beautifying the area. They worked on murals, built benches, and landscaped the surroundings.

I love this shot, it reminds me of a Levi's ad.

Jackson Hole Wedding

jackson-1 A special "thank you" to Anne and Joe for flying us out to Jackson, WY fort their wedding. Currently living in Boston, the couple chose a destination wedding that was close to Anne's hometown of Idaho Falls. The ceremony took place in a small chapel in downtown Jackson with the reception at the Four Seasons Hotel, just at the base of the mountain. The rain held up until it was time to head over to the reception site, (which was picture time too)...but Anne and Joe decided, rain or shine we were taking outdoor pictures to capture the beauty all around us. I think our positive vibes payed off because just as we got to the "picture destination" it stopped raining! It was a quite, calming experience...just Anne and Joe, us, and Anne's parents. I don't think it could have been more perfect.

Shots from Wyoming

Wyoming was wet and cold, a very different look compared to the last time I was there. I must say, Teton National Park looks really cool when its rainy and cloudy. The only issue is that I have a major cold now. It could be from sitting in an airport with germs floating around, or maybe its because I was playing in the rain for 3 days straight. Hmm. img_8840-1

Idaho Falls. This is where we landed, and where Anne (the bride) is from. It snowed as we drove over the pass from Idaho Falls to Jackson Hole. I was freaking out as we drove our small rental car up the hill and back down (which was the scariest)...the first day we couldn't even see the mountains because the clouds were so thick. We were going to go to Yellowstone on Wednesday, but the park entrance was closed due to the snow. So we just hung out in Jackson and had some beers at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar.

Teton National Park. Winter snow melting and causing rushing waters.

Thursday we scouted out the wedding sites and took pictures around Teton Village and in the park. We also hiked part of Jenny Lake (in the rain). It was beautiful. We were the only people on the hike. I was scared. Again. Thinking a hungry bear might be lurking around the next corner. I would. Friday, before it was time to shoot the wedding, we took one last jaunt into Teton National Park. It was sunny in the morning so we were able to see the entire mountain range, and also set up the tripod for a picture of the 2 of us. Fun, fun.

Spring Portrait Day

Spring Portrait Day proved to be a total success thanks to a beautiful day. I am still sore from shooting 10 families in 10 hours--straight! I want to give a big "thank you" to everyone who showed up and made the day so special. Here are a collection of my favorite images from the day. 4

Van Vleck House

Since today was such a nice day, my mom and I decided to meet at  the Van Vleck house and gardens in Montclair, NJ. We heard there was a beautiful Chinese Wisteria tree that was probably in bloom and is really amazing to look at. It totally was. Check it out: img_4739

Holy Rollers

Today we tried out something a little different-as far as a communion photoshoot goes. We headed out to a local park in Hoboken and got some really beautiful shots with the blooming flowers and trees. On the way home, we spotted this brick wall and I had to use it. I think it looks like Ashely is in a foreign country in these shots. Fantastic! ashley
