This can be tough, right? Making sure your photos look different from past years. Especially if you share your images in your yearly holiday card. You don’t want to keep sending out the same shot with a similar background. Personally, when I shoot my own family I try to do the opposite look from the year prior. I always gravitate towards a certain style (because that’s me and that’s my style!), but for the most part it looks different.
In this case, my client said “I’m stumped. I don’t know what direction to go in this year!” We have already done a summer-y backyard shoot, a summer farm shoot, a winter woodland shoot and an urban shoot. What else is there?! I think I had been binge watching Peaky Blinders that week and it was on my mind. I said “what if we do a Peaky Blinders inspired shoot? We could search for tweeds and layered looks…maybe an emerald green dress?” We were both excited and inspired. After seeing what she purchased for the kids, I knew I wanted a backdrop that enhanced the clothing colors and told the story of our vision. This old stable and the greenery of the grass was the perfect way to tie it all together. Enjoy the inspiration!

Some more autumn eye-candy for you to check out. Love how this portrait session turned out!

My final shoot from this past weekend was with the sweetest kids in the universe. I honestly had so much fun working with their entire family. They were willing to do anything I requested, including jumping out of trees and laying in the grass. I hope the images reflect the happy memories we made that afternoon. Enjoy!

I was so excited to catch up with my old friends and their three beautiful children. It had been a while since our last session. This was my first time meeting their latest addition, Emma. What a doll. Between her soft little laugh, adorable voice and gigantic smiles, I was in an abyss of cuteness.

My third shoot from yesterday was with this super cute family. We switched the scenery up and headed down to the meadow for some outdoor exploring and tree climbing. Fun memories were made and captured through the lens. Enjoy!

My second shoot from yesterday was with Harrison and his parents. The whole gang brought their A game for this shoot, between outfits, accessories and smiles. I think the title of the blog post sums up the feel I get from their pictures. Enjoy their little slice of autumn wonderland!

Two words come to mind when I look at these pictures: PURE MAGIC

I mean, c'mon. Right? He's gorgeous.

Today I met up with this handsome devil. Let me tell you, his personality is as adorable as his face!

Tonight was pure magic. I've been working with these 3 cuties for years now, and I look forward to seeing how much they've grown each time we meet. Tonight all of them came running up to me, full of picture-taking excitement (ya gotta love that kind of enthusiasm). As a result, lots of loveliness happened. I think you'll agree....

Tonight I met up with Alex and his little sister, Audrey for some spring portraits. We had a gorgeous evening- filled with dreamy light. We managed to explore the entire arboretum and got so many killer portraits. Here are a few of my favorites...

Today I met up with Luca and Nico for their annual portraits. Love spending time with these guys, and I love to photograph their handsome faces! We had a great time exploring the arboretum, climbing trees and telling stories. Totally happy with the results, hope you are too....
